GCLS is coming!

GCLS is coming, and yes, I am like a kid when the circus is coming to town!

I can hardly wait to see new and old friends form around the world. I get to hang out with writers and readers, get new books, get them signed, attend panels, presentations and pool parties (don't ya just love that alliteration, lol)

As a bonus, this year I will be presenting 2 of my poems about the Con at the Welcome Ceremony, AND I will be available to sign my story in the book! I HOPE someone wants me to sign. I've actually been practicing my autograph. lol Not much, just a little.....honest.

My story is Advanced Training. I am between the sheets (so to speak,lol) with the likes of Lee Lynch, Jean Redmann, Pat Cronin, Lee Coats, MJ Williamz...the list goes on and on. I am in awe to be in such great company. I hope my story adds something to the book. I have even made business cards and book plates to sign. Even if no one picks them up it was good practice.

My friend Heather is celebrating a very special 25th birthday/anniversary. I plan on having ice cream with her to celebrate, and i have a little something for her. It's not what I wanted to get cuz there's not enough time, but I will get her something very special. She totally deserves it.

I also picked up the cutest little t-shirts. I don't have a little one, but I couldn't resist. lol One says, "Potty Like A Rock Star", and the other "iPOOD."
rotfl Isn't that the cutest thing you've ever seen! I hope I get to see them on some very special two-year old who is in potty training.

I will be with the ConVirgins, which is always fun. We will be answering questions and helping the first time attendees meet people and get comfortable. Double the 'fangirl' fun watching someone meet a favorite author for the first time.

Super Bowl Sunday

Tomorrow is the day...Colts vs Saints. I am sure Miami is in a frenzy right about now.

My site is 'under construction'. lol I will be updating and adding photos from my trip to Tallahassee to hear Cj Harte read. It was quite an adventure.

The battle of the Titans continues.

Today we will find out who will be going for the big prize, the payoff, I mean the final playoff. HAVE NO DOUBT, IT IS ALSO A BIG PAYOFF. Wow, I didn't mean to put that in caps. Guess my keyboard knows me better than I know myself. lol

I'm going to spend my only weekend day watching grown men play and make plenty of money doing so. And I am going to enjoy it!

I hope it has all the excitement of a Diego Corrales/Jose Luis Castillo or Manny 'PacMan' Pacquiao/Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton fight. Or the fire and rhythm of a Keiko Matsui piece on the piano. Or the swagger and bravado of a Shaggy song. I hope it is not a one-sided blow out. I HATE those. I hope everyone shows up to play.

I hope they all win...but they can't. So we shall see. Bring it on, fellas!

Guess what I found out last night! Can't? Give up? Okay, I'll tell you.

You know my story? The first one ever in print? Well.....it's going to be in an anthology with O M effin G..........................LEE LYNCH!

Okay, if you're a lesbian and you are wondering,"Who the heck is Lee Lynch." Shame on you and get busy doing some research. If you are a BUTCH and asking, "Who?", I'd say you had better check you butch card. It might be counterfeit. lol No, really!

For everyone else, check out some of Lee's body of work if you ever have a chance. She is a wonderful literary writer. She is a pioneer. She is the quintessential butch and has through her life and writings shown us how to live and how to love. Of course, she is also one of the most humble people I know, and would deny most of my previous ramblings. Or as my Brit friends would say, waffling. lol Not to argue with 'The Lee Lynch', but it's ALL true.

Oh, BTW, Lee Lynch will be the Keynote speaker at the GCLS (Golden Crown Literary Society) Con this year at Disney World in Florida.

...just one of the innumerable reasons YOU should be there! Just that fact alone is worth the price of admission to the Con. And besides...I'll be there. *wink*

In the mail today I received the contract to have my short story published in an anthology. My first print story. I am still in the clouds about it. Keep your eyes open for it. It should be out later this year. The name of the anthology is Women in Uniform.

Day 3

Seven days to created a new habit, 21 days to perfect it...I hear. lol

The first sign of a nervous breakdown is when you start thinking your work is terribly important.

Funny, and in my case very true. All of us have 'important' work, but very few of us have 'terribly'; important work. It's all relative, and for me the important work is anthing we do to remain a vital part of the human experience.

Congratulations to the cast/crew of Precious for their work in such an arena.
...terribly important work, helping others to heal, sharing their stories, exposing their pain, and letting them know they are not the 'only' ones, and that they are not alone.
